Analysis

THE CESSNA 150 WAS TAXING ON A RUNWAY IN PREPARATION FOR TAKEOFF. AS THE PILOT EXECUTED A LEFT TURN ONTO ANOTHER RUNWAY, A CESSNA 172, WHICH WAS TAXING BEHIND, COLLIDED WITH THE CESSNA 150. THE PILOT OF THE CESSNA 172 SAID, 'I STARTED TO CONCENTRATE ON...WHERE I WOULD PARK...MY LINE OF SIGHT WAS TO MY LEFT, AS I RETURNED MY...SIGHT TO THE RIGHT...[THE CESSNA 150] HAD TURNED...IN FRONT OF US...IT WAS EVIDENT WE WOULD NOT STOP IN TIME.'

THE FAILURE OF THE PILOT OF N64147 TO MAINTAIN ADEQUATE SPACING AND VISUAL LOOKOUT FROM N6544G WHILE TAXIING, RESULTING IN A GROUND COLLISION.
