The airplane ran off the side of the runway and nosed over. The student pilot said, "As I prepared to take off on runway 12, the winds were 040 at 5 to 8 knots. I did not correct for the wind, and after I applied power the plane swerved to the left. When the plane went off the side of the runway, I closed the throttle. Then the plane jumped a service road, and landed on its nose gear. The gear collapsed, the plane skidded on its nose before flipping onto its top." The student pilot reported no mechanical malfunction of the aircraft.
On November 24, 2000, at 1625 central standard time, a Cessna 150M, N66633, piloted by a student pilot, sustained substantial damage when, during takeoff, it ran off the north side of runway 12 (6,000 feet by 100 feet dry asphalt) and nosed over at the Jefferson City Memorial Airport, Jefferson City, Missouri. The 14 CFR Part 91 solo flight was not on a flight plan. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed at the time of the accident. The student pilot, who was the sole occupant, was not injured. The local flight was originating at the time of the accident. In a written statement, the student pilot said, "As I prepared to take off on runway 12, the winds were 040 at 5 to 8 knots.
