Analysis

THE AG PILOT SAID THAT DURING TAKEOFF WITH THE 8TH LOAD OF THE DAY, THE AIRPLANE WOULD NOT CLEAR THE TOP WIRE OF A FENCE. IT HIT THE WIRE AND SMALL TREES, THEN CAME TO REST 100 YARDS PAST THE END OF THE RUNWAY. THE PILOT SAID THAT AFTER HE EVACUATED THE AIRPLANE, HE FOUND THE WIND HAD SHIFTED TO A TAILWIND. THERE WAS NO WINDSOCK OR WIND MEASURING EQUIPMENT AT THE AIRSTRIP.

THE PILOT'S INADEQUATE EVALUATION OF THE WEATHER INFORMATION. A RELATED FACTOR TO THE ACCIDENT WAS THE TAILWIND.
