DURING AN APPROACH FOR LANDING, THE GLIDER ENCOUNTERED A VERY STRONG SINK AND COLLIDED WITH TREES WHEN THE FLIGHT WAS UNABLE TO REACH THE AIRPORT. IT CRASHED 150 FEET SHORT OF THE RUNWAY THRESHOLD AND WAS SUBSTANTIALLY DAMAGED.
