THE CESSNA 335 WAS MAKING A CONTACT APPROACH WHEN IT FLEW INTO THE GROUND. THE AIRCRAFT RECEIVED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE AND THE PILOT RECEIVED SERIOUS INJURIES. WINDS IN THE AREA WERE REPORTED AT 25 KNOTS WITH GUSTS TO 35 KNOTS. VISUAL METEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS WERE REPORTED TO HAVE PREVAILED AT THE TIME OF THE ACCIDENT.
