Analysis

The non-certificated pilot stalled the airplane during the initial climb. The airplane then descended and impacted a house then the ground.

Factual Information

The non-certificated pilot stated that the wind was calm and it was later determined that he departed from runway 09. The pilot further stated that after becoming airborne when the flight was approximately 3/4 down the 900 foot long grass runway, the airplane stalled. The airplane impacted into a garage of a residence near the runway then the ground. The pilot exited the airplane; he did not report any failure or malfunction of the engine or airframe.

Probable Cause and Findings

The failure of the unqualified person (pilot) to maintain airspeed during the initial climb, resulting in an inadvertent stall, uncontrolled descent, and in-flight collision with a residence.
