BOMBARDIER CL600 2C10
On 16 October, 2012, at approximately 1923 UTC (2123 local time), a Canadair CRJ-700, registration F-GRZE, operated by Britair as flight 5937 from Paris to Lorient (France), landed on Lorient Airport runway 25, and proceeded to overrun the end of the runway, the end of the runway safety area, broke through the localizer antenna and came to a stop just short of the airport perimeter fence about 200 meters past the end of the runway. All 3 landing gear were located off the paved surface after the airplane came to stop. The aircraft carried 53 passengers and 4 crew, and there were no injuries. The aircraft sustained minor damage, and the airport localizer antenna was damaged. The investiation is bein conduted by the Bureau d’Enquêtes et d’Analyses pour laSécurité de l’Aviation civile (BEA) of France as the State of Occurrence. The NTSB has appointed a U.S. accredited representative as the state of design and manufacture of the aircraft engines and will assist the BEA in their investigation.
