On July 1, 2016, at approximately 1445 Coordinated Universal Time, a Canadian registered Piper PA-28-140 airplane, C-GNUC, owned and operated by a private pilot, was destroyed when it collided with terrain shortly after takeoff from Winnipeg Lyncrest Airport near Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. The pilot and one passenger were fatally injured. The flight originated from Winnipeg Lyncrest Airport, Manitoba, Canada.
