On December 11, 2016, a Piper PA-38, YS-332-PE, crashed near Ingenio La Cabana, El Salvador, a 0715 local time and was destroyed. The flight instructor and student pilot were fatally injured. The accident investigation is under the jurisdiction and control of the government of El Salvador.
