On July 23, 2017, about 1835 UTC, a Cessna U206G, Mexican registry XB-MUM, owned and operated by a private individual, impacted mountainous terrain near Culiacun, Sinaloa, Mexico. The pilot and 6 passengers on board were fatally injured and the airplane was substantially damaged. Adverse weather conditions were reported in the vicinity. The foreign, non-scheduled, personal cross-country flight had departed from Airdrome Tamazula, Durango, Mexico and was destined for Culiacun International Airport (CUL), Culiacun, Mexico.At 1840 UTC, weather conditions at CUL were wind calm, Few clouds at 200 ft., 10 miles visibility, temperature 91 degrees Fahrenheit (F), dew point 77 degrees F, and altimeter 29.86 inches. This investigation is under the jurisdiction of the government of Mexico.
