On October 26, 2017, about 0952 mountain daylight time, a Piper PA-34-200T airplane, C-GCCM, departed controlled flight and impacted terrain shortly after takeoff from Calgary Springbank Airport (CYBW), Alberta, Canada. The flight instructor and pilot receiving instruction sustained fatal injuries.The Transportation Safety Board (TSB) of Canada is investigating the accident. As the State of Manufacture of the airplane and engine, the NTSB has designated a U.S. accredited representative to assist the TSB in its investigation.
