On May 27, 2019, at 1730 Pacific daylight time, a U.S. registered Cessna 170B airplane, N4512C, owned and operated by the pilot, was destroyed when it collided with terrain under unknown circumstances after takeoff from Whitehorse/Erik Nielson International Airport (CYXY), Yukon, Canada. The pilot and the passenger were fatally injured. The flight was destined for Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport (PANC). The accident investigation is under the jurisdiction and control of the Canadian Transportation Safety Board.
