On October 20, 2019, a Thai Airways International Boeing 777-300ER, powered by two General Electric GE90-115B turbofan engines, aborted takeoff after experiencing a No. 1 engine high pressure turbine uncontainment failure during takeoff roll. The incident is being investigated by Thailand's Aircraft Accident and Incident Investigation Commission (AAIIC). The NTSB is participating in the investigation as the state of manufacture of the airplane and the engines.
